Section 1-2. Scope

These regulations apply to all permanent and temporary workplaces, access routes and new and existing work premises.

Section 2-10 and Chapter 9 of the regulations do not apply to offshore petroleum activities and activities on onshore facilities as mentioned in Section 6(e) of the Framework Regulations. Sections 2-22, 2-23 and 6-5 of the regulations do not apply to offshore petroleum activities.

These regulations will apply to Svalbard unless otherwise warranted by the Regulations of 18 January 1993 No 33 relating to the coal mines on Svalbard.
