Section 10-6. The employer's general duties in connection with the use of work equipment
The employer shall ensure that only work equipment that meets the regulatory requirements for the work equipment in question is used.In the case of machinery and other work equipment manufactured and placed on the market before 1 January 1995, the employer shall ensure that only equipment that meets the requirements set out in Chapters 10, 18 and 19 is used.In the case of machinery traded after 1 January 1995, the employer shall ensure that the machinery used meets the occupational health and safety requirements that applied when the work equipment was manufactured and placed on the market.Work equipment shall be used for the work operations and under the conditions for which it is designed.Work equipment shall not be used to transport persons unless it was designed and built for the purpose.
