Section 87. DNA testing

If, in cases under this Act, it is necessary to establish whether a family relationship exists, the applicant and the sponsor may be requested to undergo DNA testing. This applies only if the other information in the case does not provide a basis for establishing the family relationship with reasonable certainty. If the applicant or the sponsor refuses the request for DNA testing without reasonable grounds, the individual concerned shall be made aware that this may be of significance for the assessment of the case.
Information and material related to the test shall be deleted or destroyed as soon as possible after the family relationship has been confirmed or disproved.
The King may issue regulations containing further provisions on the implementation of DNA testing.
